Hygge. I think we’ve had quite enough of that word right? Too bad. We’re using it today. Right here. Right now.
Mr. Teeps and I took advantage of a weekend snowed in to hygge-ify things. There was cuddling, soft blankets, bottomless cups of tea, reading Harry Potter out loud, thick woolen socks, cookies on hand and chili simmering in the slow cooker. It was a cozy day to say the least, so I suppose, in this case, hygge is a good word for our weekend vibes.
Even though Jesse won all the boyfriend points by clearing the snow off my car, I opted to stay in for the day (if we did have a bf/gf gold star point system, he’d have the galaxy, and I maybe would have enough to complete a constellation, on a good day) (love you J). Anyways… my hygge day included some at home yoga, during which Mr. Teeps decided my yoga strap was his new favorite toy. I also read some Harry Potter out loud to the fur babies. What you don’t read out loud to your dogs? No, I’m guessing probably not. I’ll be admitted to a Crazy Dog Mom facility soon…
I ate my weight in those dark chocolate quinoa oatmeal cookies, but somehow didn’t lose my appetite for the skillet baked corn bread I made to go along with the chili. There’s always room for carbs. Especially when they’re fresh from the oven and drizzled in local honey.
And now it’s 50-something° and sunny. The snow will probably melt by this evening and tomorrow I’ll be running in shorts again. I’ll take it.
