Hello lovely babes…and dudes. We’ve got our weekend pants on over here (which honestly aren’t any different than our normal pants…which aren’t usually pants anyways…I’m a leggings type of gal) and are feeling pretty good about it. The boys are feeling pretty good about a morning game of tug, although I feel like they are a little unfairly matched.
We went for a little family romp, Loki is truly enjoying the trails that are basically in our backyard. He says running off leash on trails > walking on leash through the city. I’m with you bud, I’m much more of a small mountain town girl. Here’s a little game of Where’s Waldo for you…can you spy Jesse in this picture? I’ll give you a hint, he had to double back on the trail to scoop some poop.
The temperature dipped here a little bit. We’re looking at 50° days, not 70°. I just hope we don’t get any late spring snow storms…these poor little daffodils won’t make it through that! Do daffodils scream Easter to anyone else? Also, while we’re talking about Easter, is it appropriate to put together for yourself an Easter basket as an adult? I think the last time I got one from my parents was while I was in college and it was actually a pair of red Toms in a basket, not candy (not that I’m complaining…I think that was the best Easter basket I’d ever gotten actually).
I’m voting that Jesse and I make Easter baskets for each other this year. And just so it’s out there for the world (hem hem Jesse), my favorite Easter candies are Starburst Jelly Beans and Dark Chocolate Rasberry Smidgens. Don’t even bother with the cadbury eggs and peeps.
And now that we’re off the topic of sugary Easter candy…salads have been the lunch of choice around here. At least for me. Jesse is more of an Annie’s type of guy. Remember a few weeks ago when I mentioned I was trying to love beets? Well since then I’ve roasted them, which is alright, but my favorite way to eat them is raw, shredded and covered in tahini sauce. Tahini makes many many things much more palatable, in my opinion. I like to call this my rainbow salad.Oh and we also got a micro grill. Our HOA has some pretty strick policies on what type and size of grill you can have (and for good reason. Idk if you saw the news but there was a wild fire basically in downtown Boulder last weekend). Here I am, grill master, burning my salmon burger.
And here is a shot of a helicopter bringing giant buckets of water to put out the fire last weekend. We finally booked the last of our plane tickets for our Ireland trip, which will also involve a nice long visit with the family back on the East Coast too. I’m very excited and so is Mr. Teeps, who is going to stay at pup camp with my parents while Jesse and I are in Ireland. I’ll miss my little intern, but honestly, I don’t think he’ll miss me…my parents have 100 acres for him to run on and serve steak with the kibble. Yeah…he’s in good hands.
Nothing too exciting going on over here this weekend. Debating on if I want to go see Beauty and the Beast (has anyone seen it yet? Should we go??). There will be cookies baked. There will be a run or two with Mr. Teeps. And hopefully there will be sunshine and not snow. Oh and Jesse wanted me to share this picture of his jeep…he painted the grill back. So now he’s super cool, obviously.
Thanks for reading! I hope you have a great weekend!
Favorite Easter Candy? When was the last time you got an Easter basket?
