I’m no Everest expeditionist (is that a word?) BUT I do have a ton of sweeeeet packs for the daily commuter or laid back hiker.
Here are my favs:
Topo Designs – I have 2 Rover Packs. 1 that I keep “nice” for a daily commuter (it’s the Chaco special edition) and 1 that I don’t care how dirty, sweaty, gross it gets for hiking/dog park/camping (classic red & teal, very hip). This is my favorite style from Topo Designs, not too big, not too small (great size for your personal item on flight!). The straps are extra cushy so load that baby up. It has a variety of sturdy zippered pockets for all your odd and ends. The pack’s material is a super lightweight yet durable AND water resistant.
Fjällräven – where outdoor gear meets art. I’m in love with my Rucksack No. 21 Medium in this gorgeous Meadow Green color. The leather accents are, how they say, on fleek. And that cute fox logo? Don’t even get me started. I love this pack for my “outdoorsy-chic” daily pack. It’s my workday staple. Out of all my packs, I probably get the most compliments from this one.
Burton- I have the Annex pack. This is your “I can’t leave anything behind” backpack. Aka, you can fit everything you could ever need (for a day or 2 or heck even a week) in this bad boy. A few of my favorite features are the felt lined zippered top pocket – perfect for items you don’t want to get scratch (phone, sunglasses..), yoga mat straps on the front, HUGE side pockets (these caverns will hold your Nalgene size bottles and then some) and last but not least, the double laptop sleeve – one large sleeve for your laptop and one smaller sleeve for your iPad. Because us hipsters can’t leave the house with at least 3 Apple products in tow.
OG Sack – for yoga classes & shopping. It can be worn 3 ways (backpack, messenger or top handle tote). Awesome, water resistant removable liner – so toss in those extra sweaty clothes after class and fear not. AND it has secure straps for your yoga mat! It also doubles as a great reusable grocery bag (since the liners are removable/washable I don’t feel too grossed out by this shared gym/grocery bag). You can fit the contents of at least 2 normal plastic grocery sacks in here.
And that’s it guys. My name is Aimee, I have backpack problem.
On my next blog post – how to declutter your life and get rid of all those backpacks you’ve collected… (kidding)
