There’s been a lot flour talk around here and not so much mud and sweat talk. Sorry, I just love baking and sharing it with you guys so much more than sharing sweaty selfies. That being said, I am still running almost everyday and getting my butt to yoga class at least once a week. You just see that less, because well, peanut butter cookies > red raced runner.
Here’s what my weekly workouts have been looking like:
Monday: 3 -4 mile trail run with Mr. Teeps, followed by some at home yoga and foam rolling. And tummy rubs.
Tuesday: Slightly longer trail run solo, something like 4-6 miles, and then a short hike with Mr. Teeps. Core work, foam rolling etc.
Wednesday: Drag my lazy ____ to a yoga class. CorePower’s C2 is my go to.
Thursday: Run run run run. Or not. Maybe I’ll just hike (3-4 miles). Whatever I feel like. Most likely take Mr. Teeps.
Friday: Slightly longer trail run solo (4-6 miles). Core work, foam rolling. You get the drill.
Saturday: I try to get the whole family out for a run, we usually get 3-5 miles done together.
Sunday: Long trail run. Right now my long runs are not so long (10 is the most at this point). I’m still getting use to running on trails. My city-park-loop legs are taking a beating!
As you might have noticed, I don’t have any true rest days. I just don’t feel like I need them at this point because I’m not running high mileage or doing super intense workouts. And honestly, I’d rather do shorter runs more often. I love getting out everyday to do a run or hike. It’s good for my body, my mental health, and its good for Mr. Teeps. You know how intuitive eating is a thing? I like to think of my workout schedule as intuitive. Intuitive exercise, I like that. I just do what my body needs on any given day. Most likely that’ll be a trail run, a hike or some yoga. Or maybe my body just wants to sit on the couch and eat giant pizza. This exercise mentality is keeping me healthy, injury free and stress free.
…and it keeps Mr. Teeps happy and worn out. Did I mention that?
In other news, it’s not all brown with more brown sugary eats over here (although there are a lot of those..). I’ve been enjoying roasted sweet potatoes and beets on top of salads, my Philosophie Superfoods smoothies, wine and oh gosh, that gnocchi. I just wish I wasn’t so hungry to dive in and had used the good camera to take the picture (face palm).
ooops…sorry about those last two pictures. I just can’t help myself. Also, I’ll apologize in advance, I’m working on a small batch chai cupcake recipe. More brown things. You know you love it.
Thanks for reading!
